Understanding Understanding by Craig Harper

If I don’t understand your understanding (of things) then I can’t relate to you. Which is why clever people often say things like: “So Sally, what’s your understanding of this situation (challenge, problem, relationship, etc.)” before they attempt any kind of meaningful dialogue about the matter at hand. They ask Sally a clever question to gain a better understanding of her understanding. This is called ‘thinking about thinking’.
